How Does Young’s Work in the Community?

bike ride

Our farm was founded in 1869 – when the red barn was built by relatives of the Young family.  We started selling our dairy products direct to the public in the late 1950s.  We’ve been part of the community for a long time!  The Young family and our wonderful Staff has been and continues to work in and for our community in many ways – volunteering, door prize & raffle donations, monetary & food (& ice cream & cheese!) donations.  We can’t say yes to every request, however, it’s important to us to give back to the community that has supported our business for many decades.

In 2015, we gave to many organizations that do good things in our community in all kinds of ways.  Since our Guests come from far and wide, we tend to get involved in a lot of things.  Here is a list of many of the organizations we worked with in 2015 (forgive any spelling errors, please!)

One of the largest charity efforts Young’s is involved with is the Young’s Ice Cream Charity Bike Tour.  2015 was the 13th year of this amazing event – and working with many volunteer committee members and dozens of volunteers from the four charities, we were able to donate $105,060 ($26,265 each) to United Rehabilitation Services, the Alzheimer’s Association, South Community – Positive Health Options, and JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).  The past 13 years this event has raised $955,000 for our charities – and we are looking forward to going over $1 million dollars donated this year!  Learn more about the Young’s Ice Cream Charity Bike Tour and get involved at http://youngsbiketour.com
