Young’s is proud to be the first employer for many young people in the area, in peak season we employ more than 300 people. With this, many relationships have started over scooping ice cream and frying cheese curds. Even some members of the Young family met their special someone at the dairy. Many couples still employed, while some have moved on into different careers. One couple that began at Young’s is Dylan and Emily Allison.
Dylan and Emily met at Young’s in 2012 and started as coworkers and then moved into a friendship. Throughout that year they enjoyed each other’s company at work while getting to know each other to the point of beginning their relationship in 2013. Emily grew up in Springfield attending Kenton Ridge High school, while Dylan lived in Xenia making Young’s a halfway point for them to spend time together. For many from this area, Young’s is a classic date spot. With Udders and Putters providing a casual environment to having a conversation over a cone in the Dairy Store, many romances have begun here.
Emily worked her way through college in the Dairy Store while Dylan graduated from culinary school and worked as the Young’s on the Moove food truck manager. As they were working at Young’s, they moved into their first apartment in 2015 and soon after got their French bulldog, Zeke. Together they raised Zeke while building their home, eventually buying their first home in Dylan’s hometown. Both Dylan and Emily have left Young’s in pursuit of their careers. Emily teaches kindergarten while Dylan is a chef at Soin medical center.
Dylan and Emily committed their lives to each other and got married in July 2019. While they no longer work here, they often visit and all of their close friends they met through Young’s attended their their wedding. Dylan and Emily credit Young’s with bringing them together and they will cherish their memories made here. Dylan and Emily are one example of true love found at Young’s and we are proud to be a part in their lives.
