Young’s Jersey Dairy recently launched “A Sundae Chat With the Young’s.” This monthly podcast is dedicated to stories about Young’s Jersey Dairy, family business ownership, tales of running a restaurant, and of course, ice cream!
Episode 2 Preview: Third Generation Cousins
Episode 2 of “A Sundae Chat with the Young’s” features three members of the family’s third generation in the business. Cousins Kelly (Young) Green, Accountant, Ben Young, HR Manager and Deb (Young) Whittaker, Head Bean Counter, share first-hand accounts on growing up on the farm and working alongside family.
Here’s a preview of some of the fun facts shared in the episode:
- Ben has hired approximately 4,000 Young’s employees since 1983.
- Kelly’s earliest memory on the farm is feeding baby calves when she was 6 or 7.
- Deb shares that the outstanding staff at Young’s has remained consistent throughout the company’s history.
- Kelly’s three sons have all worked on the farm, and were involved in 4-H and FFA.
- In high school, Ben used to milk cows daily at 5:30 a.m.
