Some episode highlights:

  • Both Jim Clem and Leslie Edmunds worked at Young’s Jersey Dairy!
    •  Jim: “I had the pleasure of working for Carl, Bob and Bill over the years.”
      • Jim started working in the 1970s, and his duties ranged from leading ponies, delivering Enon Shoppers, working in the Dairy Store on weekends as a stock boy and bottle washer and working in the barn carrying milk and bailing hay. Jim also worked as night janitor in 1976 and early morning donut delivery for the farm, Enon and Xenia stores. After college, Jim  worked in the barn and bottled milk while starting his own farm operation.
    • Leslie: “It was my first job, a great experience!”
      • Leslie worked mostly dipping ice cream and in food service on weekends during high school in the early 2000s. She also helped with farm tours and rides like Moovers & Shakers!
    • Albany: Predicts she’ll work as an ice cream dipper when she grows up!
  • Pros and Cons of Running a Business:
    • Jim: Pro: I like being my own boss — Con: You have to solve all the problems.
    • Leslie: Pro: Previous jobs I felt restrained…it’s great to be able to decide exactly how I want to structure everything I want to do.
  • Earliest Memories at Young’s:
    • Albany: “When I was 4 years old, doing miniature golf.”
    • Leslie: “Several memories! I really remember the first year that Udders & Putters opened and I thought, obviously, this is the coolest place ever just a few miles down the road. And I remember my brother had his birthday party here, and I was mildly jealous that he had the coolest birthday party before me.”
    • Jim: First visit was to the first Dairy Store in the 1960s.
  • Go-To Sundae Combination
    • Leslie: I always love a classic hot fudge sundae. The gooey warm, hot fudge makes the sundae!
    • Albany: I like getting cookies and cream ice cream with whipped cream and extra sprinkles.
    • Jim: Classic Hot Fudge Sundae.
